We’ve said it here once and we’ll say it again: there are no new trends. They’re just reused and dressed up in different permutations. Eenamaria‘s mod-inspired handbags are a great example of how trends, even decades old, can feel new again when reworked and re-imagined. The brand brilliantly references the Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, whose iconic color block paintings were a natural foil to the spare shapes of mod sixties garments (and who conversely inspired this famous dress!). While following this year’s Paris Fashion Week shows, we noticed a reemergence of the minimalist trend. We think it’s a perfect sartorial match for our favorite colorful mod-inspired brand.
After designer Phoebe Philo sent simplified, well tailored pieces down the runway at her first Céline show last October, minimalist waves reverberated through the fashion houses. This week Stella McCartney, Givenchy, and Karl Lagerfeld, among others, showed toned down garments accessorized with pops of color. For real people, this simplification will translate to neutral, slimly tailored separates that are easy to mix and match. It’s like 60′s mod, reborn in easy to wear colors and the most flattering silhouettes.
When wearing the new millennium’s minimalism, reference the mod minimalism of the 60′s with a Mondrian inspired clutch. (Whew– that is a lot of ‘m’s!) Eenamaria is a natural choice when you need the pop, and this Every Queen Needs a Clutch offers a bright yellow hue in a fresh, bite-sized serving of vintage mod. Plus, it makes the old new again with eco-friendly and easy to clean materials– because functionality and saving the earth never go out of style. Like living (minimalist) history!

it’s inspirational…
