There’s a lot to love about Orla Kiely. Besides being an Angel Handbag favorite and our designer brand of the month, Orla Kiely’s playful prints recently set the fashion world abuzz in one of her original mediums: clothing. Since opening up shop in 1997, Orla Kiely has spread her optimistic patterns over bags, clothes, travel accessories, and home-wares (including an enormously successful line for Target in 2009).
Last week at London Fashion Week, the Orla Kiely Autumn/Winter 2010 show featured models in cheeky retro-tinged garments wandering through 60′s style living rooms (perhaps a nod to Ms. Kiely’s multifaceted design roots). The blogosphere blew up with rave reviews of the collection’s vintage-inspired shapes, sophisticated color combinations, and of course, fantastic use of prints. Before the garments are available in stores, we’re using it as inspiration for new ways to wear our favorite Orla Kiely Classic Shoulder Bag.
